The GTEC Reader is a quarterly online arts and culture journal focused on the climate crisis and what to do about it. Thank you for your interest in submitting work to The Reader.
Subscriptions to the GTEC Reader are free of charge and all of our writers and the editor work pro bono. Thus, there is no remuneration for contributions to The Reader at the current time. Contributors are asked to read the Purpose and Objectives of the GTEC Reader and to evaluate if their submission is congruent with this journal. The photo requirements are also outlined below. If a contributor would like to submit written copy to be considered for publication, the following guidelines will apply:
- Copy can be sent to Mary Kean, at editor@gteccanada.ca.
- Word count must be no more than 2500 words.
- Please submit in Times New Roman font, if possible, double spaced.
- Include your full name as author of the article as well as references.
- If using hot links, please include a list of links in correct order with words in your document and underline those words.
- Include your contact information with email, phone and any other means of contact.
- A cover letter would be helpful outlining your interest in the climate crisis and a brief bio
- By submitting your work to The GTEC Reader, you will be in an editorial decision-making process. Members of the Editorial Board will consider and possibly edit your submission. You will be notified of our receipt of your work and if and when it will be published.
- Submitting a good photo with your article, poem, or blog certainly helps us and will enhance your publication. That being the case, important suggestions and details regarding the photographs apply. Read on.
Photo Requirements
- Full colour, at least 750 pixels wide;
- Written permission to use the photo you send to us. Photos copied from another website or off Google Images will not be accepted without this permission.
- Please be aware of the strict approach to copyright infringement at this time.
- If you do not supply a photo with permission or legitimately not under copyright, the staff will select photos to accompany your article.
