Founded in 1993, the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) has collaborated with other organizations to engage governments, run campaigns, conduct research and draw media attention to key issues. CAPE “supports physicians to be advocates for healthier environments and ecosystems.”
Fracking the Peace
CAPE will be screening the 35-minute STAND.earth documentary, Fracking the Peace, followed by a panel discussion about the health and environmental implications of LNG in BC.

Life in the Sacrifice Zone Art Exhibition – Meet the Artist Event
Meet Karl Mattson, a self-taught multi-media artist from the Peace Region of BC. Karl has created this immersive, multimedia installation “that invites viewers to imagine the tensions that arise from the intersection between the LNG industry and everyday lives in northern British Columbia.”

Adaptation is absolutely key to surviving the impacts of climate change. GTEC co-presented Thriving People & Flourishing Planet at the 2024 Canadian Conference of Physician Leaders and will continue working with CAPE, CSPL and other green healthcare initiatives to help prepare the healthcare system with adaptive solutions that are needed now.
